The Kalawahine Trail follows the Pauoa Valley and passes in and out of its gulches along its distance. The views here are good and include the Paula Valley and Honolulu. You will also get to see a diverse display of vegetation, including mamake, koa, ginger and bananas.

Location of Trailhead

Directions
From Makiki Heights Drive, go uphill on Tantalus Drive. Pass over a narrow bridge and find the trailhead near the top of the hill on the left hand side of the road. A parking area is located on the right, just past the trailhead.
